Implementing predictive selling and loyalty for Burger King was an interesting task filled with unique challenges. Ultimately we were able to expose parts of the menu through websockets, where we could pass information to BK about the state of the menu, and their AI algorithms would use specification I designed to drive the look and feel of the menus.
McDonald's asked the team that I was on at Stratacache to integrate our menu boards with their ML system, to offer personalized content to customers. This involved sending data about the menus to Dynamic Yield, then receiving back products to recommend. We would then dynamically update our menus to recommend those products.
I started my software career at Stratacache working on digital menu boards. I helped transform a static content system into one that could be dynamically updated, using modern (at the time) javascript frameworks on strict, unmoveable deadlines. This menu application would eventually be pushed to ~15,000 stores on ~100,000 devices.
At Chase I helped make front-end updates to their website in an agile-scrum environment.
I'm an application developer with 10 years of experience across the stack, from Svelte and Vue front ends to back ends in Go, Elixir/Phoenix, and NestJS. I've built an in-house point-of-sale system, a logging server handling data from 100,000 devices, and an API gateway that unified product data for nearly a dozen POS vendors.
I love cracking tough problems, designing systems that smooth out everyday friction, and helping teammates get unstuck.
